you are not a "PROCRASTINATOR"

"To be honest, I'm done being lazy, I'm done giving excuses
from now onwards I am going to work hard, I am going to change my life !"

How many of us have actually said this trashy lines to ourselves?
I'm sure. MANY !

I was one of them. I was this person who loves to make plans and organize everything nice and tidy. but all in vein. later I realized that all that fake consolation was just to escape the pressure of getting things done.

what happens usually? no matter how much I plan, it never used to get implement.

we all can relate, we berate ourselves that we are procrastinators. we don't really get things done and escape the situation by giving excuses.basically we convince ourselves that we are good for nothing!

but the truth is we are conditioned that way.
I was doing a research the other day and found that, our brain do not like any type of pressure or pain so it uses all its energy to distract us from our work. that's exactly where entertainment industry comes in and  plays a huge role in distraction
and unfortunately we (always) gave in, without giving any second thought. Then It happens in loop and we find ourselves in a bottomless pit of guilt.

we have lost our patience to this so called fast world where everyone wants high speed internet, instant reply. instant delivery, instant noodles and what not.

"we're always in a hurry without reaching anywhere."
So ironical !

have you ever pondered why we behave this way and what's the root cause?
have you ever tried to pause and introspect?
why we always want to be at the top?
Why we want to ace everything?
why we want to be ahead of others?
why we want to do better than our neighbors?

well sincerely no one has the time for this mundane thing, right?
we like to to think.
Oh correction !
actually we really like to overthink, but we hate to analyse our life, isn't it?
we never participate in cumbersome tasks, we want everything easy, everything simple.

one simple question, If you feel sad today, does it make you a sad person for the rest of your life?
similarly, if you procrastinate some things , are you a "procrastinator" for life?
you have the answer.

there are days when we feel unproductive, we don't feel like doing anything. which is perfectly okay.
learn to be easy on yourself on those tough days, don't fall prey to the guilt trip.
but again you should know when to stop. (Break ko break lagana bhi sikho.)

~FIRST PRIORITIZE
(very crucial I tell you)
You need to prioritize everything. from your studies, family, friends, career, relationships, health, self time, social time, entertainment, everything.

take a pen and paper with you and write down the most important thing to you right now.
for some it may be health, for some it may be career, for some it may be studies.
then rank them accordingly.
for e.g. for me
health(mental & physical) > career > family &friends >>>>>entertainment.

If you have a clear mind about what is needed to be done then there's no conflict. but if you caught up between bad choices driven by instant pleasure then your life is at stake.
so prioritize wisely.

~PLAN A DAY IN ADVANCE
don't go on planning your entire life, just make a to do list a day before sleeping. so that your mornings will be clear.
•Make a tasktable.
Yes you read that right.(I personally am not a huge fan of timetable and routine)
Rather than planning the time of our day. Prioritize task with respect to time. just simply pen down all the tasks that you want to finish and allot the time  required to accomplish it accordingly.

TASKTABLE > TIMETABLE

as soon as you finish the task cross that item from the list and enjoy your dopamine secretions. researchers have said that when you accomplish any task however small it is. it gives you a sense of satisfaction which lasts longer than any insta reels.

~START SMALL
small steps daily gonna turn out to be big tomorrow.
any skill you want to master start with 5 minutes a day, then slowly increase it by another 10, then 20.
it takes time and lot of patience to build a habit so again yes patience is definitely the key.

~NEVER GIVE UP
no matter the results. you got to believe in yourself and stick to the task until you reach the finish line.
Forget the war, and learn to conquer small everyday battle between you and your mind.

Our mind Plays tricks with us and we always fail to recognize it.
Well that's another topic for the another blog. ;)

For now
choose today over tomorrow.
choose needs over wants.
choose yourself over your mind.

Good luck :)
thanks for reading.
